How should the column frame of a cold chamber die casting machine be maintained?

Jan 08, 2026

The column frame is a critical part of any cold chamber die casting machine, and proper maintenance of the column frame directly affects the reliability of the entire machine and is crucial for extending its service life. So, how should we maintain it? Maintaining the column frame properly requires the following two points:

First, improve the lubrication of every moving part of the column frame, ensuring that the surfaces of the moving parts are in a well-lubricated state. Second, regularly adjust the column frame and prevent it from loosening. Specifically, this involves the following aspects:

1. Lubrication of the toggle mechanism
For the lubrication of the toggle mechanism, 30# or 68# lubricating oil can be used. Before starting the machine, the oil controller of the lubrication system must be checked to ensure it is functioning correctly. It is important to check that all pipelines are unobstructed, and the amount of lubricating oil added should be carefully controlled.

2. Lubrication of the platen and tailstock
For the lubrication of the platen and tailstock, centralized lubrication with grease or lubricating oil can be used. Lubricating oil should be added once a month to ensure sufficient lubrication, thus preventing direct contact between the surfaces of the moving parts and dry friction, effectively extending the service life of the moving parts and maintaining motion accuracy.

3. Lubrication of the mold adjustment device
The mold adjustment device is generally lubricated every three months. Before adding lubricating oil, the surfaces of the relevant moving parts must be cleaned, and then the lubricating oil should be evenly applied to the surface of each component.

4. Lubrication of the sliding feet and steel plate
The sliding feet and steel plate are lubricated with lubricating oil or grease. Before adding lubricating oil, the sliding feet must be removed, and the dust and dirt on the surface of the steel plate should be wiped clean before reinstallation.
