The working time of the shaft sleeve is relatively long. During the long-term operation, the journal surface will be subject to the extrusion force and mechanical force from the expansion sleeve, resulting in its long-term deformation. In the deformation state, the diameter will be reduced by 0.1mm-0.3mm.


The mechanical expansion and fitting force cannot reach the expected tightening force, and the fitting gap between the shaft sleeve and the main shaft may occur, further leading to the wear of the shaft sleeve.


For example, the friction coefficient between the metal shaft sleeve and the bearing is relatively high, which will shorten the service life of the shaft sleeve.


How to prolong the service life of the shaft sleeve of the die casting machine?


We can use engineering plastic sleeve instead of metal sleeve, such as polyoxymethylene sleeve and nylon sleeve. In terms of nylon shaft sleeve, its friction coefficient is 8.8 times lower than that of steel and 8.3 times lower than that of copper. It can be said that its friction coefficient is relatively low. Once the friction coefficient becomes low, its service life will be extended. Moreover, the cost of plastic shaft sleeve is lower than that of metal shaft sleeve. It can be said that plastic shaft sleeve is a good choice.


However, the plastic shaft sleeve also has its disadvantages. For example, the nylon shaft sleeve has a low ignition point. If the temperature is too high during operation, it is easy to hold the shaft, and lubricating oil needs to be added.
